I am the EHS Manager at James Hardie in Cleburne, Texas. With over 35 years of experience in Emergency Medical and Disaster Management, and Health, Safety, and Environmental Management, I bring extensive expertise to my role. I am a military veteran, serving eleven years as a Combat Medic, which instilled in me a deep commitment to saving lives and ensuring safety. I have successfully developed and overseen safety management systems, training programs, and emergency response efforts across regional and international operations. My passion for people drives me to positively impact organizational cultures through effective engagement, transparency, and relationship cultivation.
\"• Analyze and evaluate the external and internal factors that drive every human action and reaction.
• Examine the relationship between attitude and perspective.
• Explore the influence of perspective and strategies to leverage it effectively.\"
No matter where you go in safety, one constant remains: people. For years, our profession has focused on the technical aspects of our industries, often neglecting the human element except under Behavior-Based Safety (BBS). This presentation transcends the typical BBS model, delving into the core factors influencing personal choices. \"The Psychology of Choice\" explores the underlying reasons behind our decisions, beyond standard programs and protocols. Attendees will leave feeling challenged and inspired by the power of perspective.
