Familiarize attendees with fall hazards in construction
Familiarize attendees with different fall protection systems used; such as horizontal lifelines, freestanding overhead anchor devices, column straps, drop-in anchors, beam clamp/slide anchors, pour-in-place anchors, positioning devices, and their harnesses and connecting devices.
Familiarize attendees with different types of guardrail systems used in construction
Explain use cases for each type of fall protection/prevention system.
This session aims to familiarize its attendees with fall hazards construction workers are exposed to during different phases of and throughout different types of construction. These include vertical concrete, steel erection, commercial window/curtain wall installation, residential/wood framing construction, and shaft openings. Each of these types of construction pose different fall hazard situations and require different controls or systems to mitigate them. In this session, we will be discussing the options for controls and fall protection systems that the industry has found to be most effective.
