Recognize Suicide Warning Signs: Participants will learn to identify key warning signs of suicide and understand when someone may be at risk of a crisis.
Develop Intervention Skills: Participants will practice the steps of QPR—asking about suicidal thoughts, persuading individuals to seek help, and referring them to appropriate resources—building confidence to effectively intervene in a crisis.
Evaluate and Apply Resources: Participants will gain knowledge of local and national resources for suicide prevention, including how to refer individuals to professional help, and will understand how to measure the impact of their intervention efforts through pre- and post-training assessments.
This interactive session delivers evidence-based Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training, equipping participants with practical skills to recognize warning signs and respond to individuals in crisis. Attendees will build confidence to ask about suicide, offer hope, and connect people to appropriate resources. With suicide occurring at significantly higher rates than workplace injuries in industries like construction, this training reinforces that prevention is a critical safety priority. Participants receive the same QPR Gatekeeper and supporting materials that they would in the full certification training—helping foster a culture of safety, connection, and care.
