Carrie is an occupational therapist and certified professional ergonomist with over 35 years of experience. Her passion is for integrating lean six sigma into her ergonomics practice to reduce the potential for the development of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. She believes all workers deserve to work with minimum risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Carrie’s goal when onsite at a company is to reduce employee discomfort, educate on self-management of that discomfort, identify ergonomic risk factors and help companies reduce those risks.
1. To develop a structured ergonomic evaluation process including preparation for onsite data collection, observation methods, and worker feedback.
2. To build competency in choosing appropriate ergonomic assessment tools
3. To guide learners in moving from evaluation results to prioritized, measurement-based recommendations for ergonomic risk reduction methods.
This presentation provides a comprehensive, practice‑driven framework for conducting ergonomic evaluations, interpreting ergonomic assessment tools, and translating data into effective, sustainable solutions. It is designed for ergonomists, safety professionals, and operations leaders who need to move beyond scores and checklists to real-world risk reduction and performance improvement.
